Daydreams and Time Machines

For lack of a better paragraph,
I begin the march with a poem

Steady like a summer hike to
the summit of your disregard
and forgetting, like ancient men
with their ancient history

Inscribed in sacred texts and
were made immortals but alas!
they forgot to grant us the
privilege to annihilate

Memories of tragic days of
encounter, and the folly that
accompanies this delusional
daydream of passing time

How do you warp time and penetrate
into a new month, a new current
or puncture the walls that
separate the past, the present

The future, if only it was a machine
a huge absorbing machine
siphoning the last of your
remembrance of things
