Beauty Bytes: 5 Easy Steps to Make Your Lipstick Last All Day Long

Nothing stays put these days. People, relationships, money, clothes—everything just keeps wearing off and disappearing. But that doesn’t mean your lipstick should too.

Thankfully, taming your lipstick is no rocket science. In today’s blog post I am going to share five classic easy steps on how to make your lipstick last all day long.

Let get started!

how to make your lipstick last all day long 01

Step 1: Prep Your Pout

Beautiful results always begin with beautiful bases. Before painting your lips with your favorite lip color, make sure to exfoliate your lips to get rid of dead flaky skin. If you skip this step, the dry flaky skin would most likely show on your lips once you apply lipstick and we don’t want that, right?

After exfoliation, don’t forget to moisturize your lips. I personally prefer using organic oil to moisturize my lips as lip balms tend to make my lips drier than ever. I use just a weeny bit of organic oil and let it sit on my lips for a few minutes before applying lipstick.

Step 2: Cache and Cover

If lipstick application is a war, think of this as your ultimate strategy to winning the battle. Concealers and lip liners are your best ammunition. Apply concealer onto your lips to create a muted base. To prevent bleeding, line the outer edge of your lips as you would trace your line of your defense. Use your fingers to blend the lines softy. When all is set, fire away with your favorite lipstick.

Step 3: Brush Brush Baby

Most of us think that there’s no other way of applying lipstick than by simply swiping it onto the lips. There’s actually a better way to do so. By using a retractable lip brush, one can more evenly and precisely transfer color onto the lips and have more control over the application.

Step 4: Blot the Spot

After you apply a layer or two of lipstick, take a piece of tissue paper and lightly blot your lips to take off any excess color.

Step 5: Power up with Powder

To add the finishing touch to your lipstick look, take another piece of tissue paper and place it over your lips. Then gently dust some translucent powder over your lips through the tissue paper to seal and secure the color in place.

We’ve come to the end of the list. Have you tried these classic easy steps before? What are some of your surefire tips on making your lipstick last all day long? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
