ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My mother told me
I had a chameleon soul,
no moral compass pointing due north,
no fixed personality,
just an inner indecisiveness
that was as wide and as wavering
as the ocean.

Ride (2012)paragraph-separator

A girl who goes by so many names.

A natural buff for nom de guerre, she resists any form of singular classification so she brands herself with a moniker for every occasion. A childish exhibition, one could tell, stemming from the irrational belief that she must never abandon her youth and rebellion.

author-photoA sworn believer of the printed word, she graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2016. Her interests range from anything edgy to girly: from tattoos to trinkets, punk rock to pink. She is a firm believer of the Reincarnation, and wishes (however foolishly) to be turned into an owl in the afterlife.

Despite her love for books, she never considers herself a bookworm, and most likely to feel uncomfortable in the company of readers. She deems that love for books is a solitary pilgrimage. Her favorite authors are Nietzsche, Deleuze, Dostoevsky, Nabokov and Plath.

She lives in Manila where she is busy juggling her life and everything else in between. In her free time, she writes poems, short stories, and novels (as if the world hasn’t had enough).

Alongside her books, she is also head over heels in love with Japanese and Korean skin care products. This small little space in the Internet is where she bursts her languages.

  1. If you like Nietzsche and Dostoevsky, then you should check out The Outsider by Colin Wilson. It analyzes “the outsider” character archetype, which is common in the works of both of those authors. A wide range of other philosophical works make it into Wilson’s book as well, which makes it a great way to find new authors.

    1. I made a quick search on the book and found it highly interesting, especially since the book covers an extensive array of philosophical ideas from a list of great philosophers. Thank you for your recommendation.
